Life on the farm, like growing cotton itself, can be unpredictable: a truth that female farmer Nimmaka Naramma knows all too well. Despite facing personal adversity, Nimmaka's journey into regenerative agriculture stands attest her resilience and determination.
Over the past three years, Nimmaka could dedicated herself to regenerative cotton farming with great passion and commitment enabled by the partnership of German brand partner Lässig GmbH. Also this year, Nimmaka's perseverance bore fruit with a bountiful cotton harvest, bringing not only economic prosperity but also a sense of fulfillment as she reinvested her success into the restoration of her home.
“My name is Nimmaka Naramma, I belong to a tribal village situated in the district of Parvathipuram Manyam in Andhra Pradesh. Ah, well, it's been quite a journey, I have been cultivating regenerative cotton for the past three years as a partner within the Raddis®Cotton System. As for me, my health is holding up fine, the family is doing well and my grandchildren are at school now.
Let me tell you about my farm. Over the years, I witnessed changes at the farm. The weather seemed more unpredictable. Sowing now requires careful consideration, as the rains arrived later than before, sometimes skipping altogether.” “The difference, you ask?” she mused, gazing out at the fields. “The land responds differently now. But we adapt, and we learn. This year, fortunately, the cotton yield flourished.”
When presented with a soft swaddle made from her cotton, a baby blanket developed for Brand partner Lässig GmbH in Germany, a profound connection is sparked. It's not just a piece of clothing; it's a culmination of her efforts, a testament to her strength. As she folded the soft swaddles, memories of her children and grandchildren as babies flooded her mind. She remembered the dishes she cooked for them, simple yet hearty meals made with love.

She narrated- “Ah, memories of my little ones as babies? Those are the sweetest. I can still remember cooking up for them, making sure they had all their favourites. And yes, I have taken them to the cotton fields, teaching them about the land, hard work, and life. Those were the days.”
“Beautiful products, made from our cotton,” she whispered, a sense of pride swelling. “Never before had I imagined such a thing.” Nimmaka's response was heartwarming- “I am as happy as if my lost child is returned.”
And as she held the delicate fabric in her hands, she couldn't help but think of her lost child, gone but never forgotten. Her expression conveyed a deep sense of gratitude.
