With family-run factories in India, Kunal Desai, the founder of Umbre & Ochre, combines traditional with modern methods with a commitment to sustainable and responsible production practices.
FUTURE PROOF PARTNERSHIPS
For the source of Umbre & Ochre's raw material cotton, Kunal was looking for a reliable and future-proof partner with whom he could positively influence the status of farmland, decrease the amount of water used and improve the livelihoods of the small holder farmers.
Through the support of UMBRE & OCHRE as part of the Raddis®System,
the Raddis® farmers are actively able to transform their farmland from degenerative conventional mono-culture agriculture to a regenerative organic eco-system approach.
Umbre & Ochre has been a partner of the Raddis®System since the start, supporting 25 acres in 2021/22 and expanded to 75 acres in 22/23.
During difficult times, Umbre & Ochre proved to be a valuable ally for Raddis®System and unconditionally supported us during the cyclones of the 2021/2022 season.
